Purpose: to detect the vertical wind profile of the upper atmosphere before launching the missiles. This experiment was based on Image Processing of the ‘smoke trail’ captured by a very high resolution camera mounted on three predefined locations. Using the coordinates of these camera and the small segments of the ‘trail’ the deformation of the ‘smoke trail’ (which is function of the wind speed and direction) is determined .
